Over 80 percent of Americans agree that the goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are important in workplaces and society. Yet, research shows that a mere 20 percent feel they’ve directly benefited from workplace DEI programs. As traditional DEI efforts in the workplace face disengagement, backlash, and stagnation, it’s time to reimagine this work. Drawing on historical case studies, deep research, and a decade of Lily’s consulting experience with organizations of all sizes, the four tenets of FAIR can shape the next evolution of workplace DEI. The FAIR framework offers an alternative to both the performative practices of traditional DEI programs and the false promises of anti-DEI antagonists.

This interactive session led by Lily Zheng will cover

  • A discussion around the vulnerabilities of the last decade of DEI work and what we can learn from the current wave of anti-DEI sentiment
  • An introduction to Lily's FAIR framework that helps leaders and practitioners continue building more fair and inclusive organizations in volatile times
  • An exclusive live diagnostic exercise and discussion allowing participants to anonymously evaluate their own workplace maturity on the 4 tenets of FAIR

Whether you are a DEI practitioner, business leader, HR professional, or change agent, this session offers a fresh perspective on how organizations can move beyond polarization and continue making progress toward fairer, more inclusive workplaces.
