For
more
than
three decades conversations about men, and particularly
white men, have been urgent, fraught, and often counterproductive.
Well-intentioned
DEI
framing has at times cast men as “the problem,” which sidelined them from the
very conversations needed to build belonging. We believe men are not the problem;
rather, our collective approaches are a major cause of the disengagement we see
today. Following IAC’s
mission
of
being
advocates
for
those who feel marginalized, we have brought together inspiring speakers and scenario-driven
dialogue
that
centers mission over blame, affirming that inspiration and purpose can
transcend race, gender, sexual orientation, and faith, and that inclusion is
the key that unlocks genuine diversity. The CEO of Equimundo, an organization
focused on Masculinities
and Social Justice, will share their findings on the Status of American Men
2025, a groundbreaking study that draws an unflinching data-driven look at the
emotional, economic and culture-driven pressures that face American men—and
underpins their disengagement from DEI. Once we understand the data, we will
follow with a real-life example of one man’s journey from white supremacism to
radical compassion and end with a member of
IAC’s Advocacy and Webinar Committee whose mission is
engaging men helping us walk away with practical ways to enfranchise disengaged men.
Together,
we’ll explore the current realities facing men, especially white-identifying
men, in the DEI landscape, and examine strategies that move from disengagement
and disenfranchisement to meaningful participation and leadership in inclusion
efforts. Moderators:
Bart
Bailey, Owner & Principal Consultant, Courage to Care and Lewis Griggs, CEO
Griggs Production Panelists: Dr. Gary Barker, President and CEO, Equimundo
Center for Masculinities and Social Justice Tony McAleer, Co-Founder, Life After Hate Jim Morris, CEO, Jim Morris Consulting
